“Enter the Season with Song” Concert- December 3rd

As we approach Christmas, we are looking forward to our 25th Annual “Enter the Season with Song” Concert on Sunday, December 3, 2 PM. This year’s free-will offering will be collected to support St. Joan of Arc School in Nashotah. We are also excited to welcome students from the school who will join the ensemble on two songs.

Bill Frederick and Steve Johnson began the “Enter the Season with Song” concerts while both of them were working in church ministry in the Madison area.  For years the group’s concerts were held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Madison, where Bill was Director of Liturgy and Music.  This year marks the 25th anniversary of this annual concert, and eleven years since it began being held at St. Catherine Church in Oconomowoc, where Steve is Director of Liturgy and Music, and Bill is Pastoral Associate and in charge of Senior Ministry.

The “Enter the Season with Song” concert has been a wonderful way for Bill and Steve, and their musician friends, to offer their favorite Christmas music each year.  It has also become an amazing outreach event, thanks to the generosity of their audiences who contribute to local charities through the free-will offering collected at the concert.

The ensemble has recorded two Christmas CDs, one in 2005 and the second in 2011.  Bill and Steve also recorded a duet CD, “Here I Am, Lord” in 2012. They will be available at the concert for $15 each. Proceeds also benefit local charities.
